Well, this is the redacted letter I got today from the PCP. As background, the medications listed are all in the same class, which my insurance won’t pay for. I was stable on semaglutide (which is in this class) for years, but, you know… it’s expensive. So when my insurance changed, they kicked me off, and my health has been steadily crashing and burning since New Year’s.
It just sucks, because I’ve been here trying to convince myself that my life is worth the expense, and now here I’m directly being told that my life is not worth the expense. So like why even live out the next 30 years just to die prematurely? Who wins from that? I sent this text to a person:
So, I dunno. I told the cat I would never leave him, but now I’m questioning if I’m even the best caretaker for him. I just want somebody to say that their life is better with me in it, and they think I’m doing the right thing by sticking around.
