I’m trying to get a cat. The group home has a mouse problem and I think a cat would be just the thing. I like cats because they’re psychologically complex. They have boundaries and are secure in themselves. They want companionship but they’re not desperate for it. They’re not afraid to crush their guardians by rejecting them. And having a cat makes dating easier because, as the TikTok video linked above points out, not liking cats is an obvious red flag. We’ll see if I can convince the director that this is a good idea!
