My little turtle and I have been spending a lot of quality time together lately so I’ve been making YouTube videos of him. I made one of me cleaning his tank but apparently it exceeded the maximum file size for WordPress. Fortunately, I was able to upload the video of his grunts. I recorded him and then added a photo to convert the mp3 to mp4 and put it on YouTube with the following description:
This is an actual recording of my turtle, Tannîn. I never knew turtles vocalized until he started doing it. They grow up so fast *sniff*
Tannîn recorded his message in Chelonian but says it roughly translates to: “I am a male African sideneck turtle and although my human mom thinks I’m still a baby, I am in fact 10 years old and looking for a casual girlfriend. I enjoy eating worms, digging in the dirt, and climbing. If you’re looking for me in a crowd, I answer to ‘Sexy.'”
He also says he had to record his message in Chelonian because it is the language of love.
